Auditions for Pianists

Auditions for Pianists

Looking to share your passion and enthusiasm for live music? Do you enjoy working with children? Do you value artistic collaboration and teamwork?

National Dance Institute (NDI) was founded in 1976 by New York City Ballet principal dancer Jacques d’Amboise in the belief that the arts have a unique power to engage all children—regardless of background, ability, or socioeconomic status—and motivate them toward excellence. Since its founding, NDI has impacted the lives of over two million children.

Auditions will be held on February 13th at 9:30 AM – 12 PM and March 5th  at 10:00 AM – 2 PM at National Dance Institute for Learning & Arts (217 W. 147th St. New York, NY 10039)

Please prepare 3 pieces to play live. They should reflect your musical ability as well as showcase different styles/tempos.
Reading music skills will be part of the audition as well as your ability to manipulate and adapt/improvise within the context of a song/tune. If you are comfortable playing a hand drum (holding a basic beat is sufficient) please note that in the form. After an initial review of applications, you’ll be notified of a specific time slot for your audition.
