The dancers presented Ono with the wishes of hundreds of NDI students that will be delivered to the Imagine Peace Tower, an outdoor work of art conceived by Yoko Ono in memory of John Lennon on Viđey Island in Reykjavík, Iceland.  Yoko told the children, "John would have loved this."

NDI dancers perform for their school communities, inspired by Storytelling Theme

Special Music SchoolIn December and January, thousands of NDI dancers performed for their school communities in annual Mid-Year Assemblies.  The children drew inspiration from this year's curricular theme, Storytelling Around the World, highlighting storytelling traditions ranging from Greek Mythology to West African fables.  See a slide show.

Cassidy Noblett ('99)"I wouldn't be anywhere today without NDI, and I wouldn't be who I am today without its guidance and exposure."
- Cassidy Noblett

Cassidy Noblett started dancing with National Dance Institute at the age of 7.  Inspired by his experiences, he continued his dance training at the North Carolina School of the Arts and New York University.  His career as a dancer has taken him around the world dancing for the Spice Girls and Janet Jackson, and appearing on "The GRAMMY Awards" and the "MTV Video Music Awards."  He is currently touring with Beyoncé.  Cassidy recently wrote a letter to us expressing the impact that NDI has had on his life.
