"Dance is a powerful form of communication and expression that can be accessible to anyone, regardless of background, experience, or ability. To give people of all abilities the opportunity to experience the joys of dance National Dance Institute (NDI) created the Dancers Realize Excellence through Arts and Movement (D.R.E.A.M.) dance program. It's a week-long program pairing kids of various abilities with able-bodied kids."
New York City Ballet legend, Jacques d'Amboise, talks with Steve Adubato about his decades of professional dancing and how he founded the National Dance Institute to provide children the opportunity to participate in dance and the arts.
How do we measure NDI’s impact? Watch Ken Rosato interview with Traci and Ellen on NY Viewpoint (WABC, Channel 7) that aired on February 19, 2017.
"Jacques d’Amboise’s life reads like a fairytale. As a young boy growing up in the 1940s in Washington Heights, which he compares to “West Side Story” with its teenage gangs, his mother enrolled him in a ballet class."
