NDI and WNET’s “Camp TV” Brings the Day Camp to Children Nationwide

Children across the country are bringing National Dance Institute into their homes this summer through CampTV, a new day camp experience from The WNET Group. The new one-hour public television series airs weekdays on PBS (check local listings). In the New York metro area, Camp TV premiered on Monday, July 13 at 10 a.m. on WLIW21; 11 a.m. on THIRTEEN; and 12 p.m. on NJTV. Episodes are available to stream at camptv.org. Just like camp, each episode of Camp TV kicks off with a welcome song, followed by an announcement of the day’s theme, silly hat day, camping day, rhyme day, silly sock day, backwards day, and more.

WNET Education provides free online learning resources for grades pre-K through 12. The Kid’s Media and Education team at WNET creates video and interactive projects for multiple platforms, infusing fun with a range of curriculum-based content for kids from preschool through high school. Their projects explore STEM, social/emotional development, language learning, history, global understanding, social justice, and the arts to encourage critical thinking and reflect diverse perspectives. Through digital resources and training, they also engage parents and teachers as learning partners in empowering children for success in school and in life. NDI and the National Summer School Initiative Keep Children Active All Summer Long

For five weeks this summer National Dance Institute is teaming up with the National Summer School Initiative (NSSI) to offer thousands of children in grades 3 through 8 (rising 4-9) an exceptional summer experience of joyful dance and live music. NDI’s team of teacher-choreographers and musicians take NSSI students on an invigorating journey celebrating Soul Music. Together children and teachers explore some of the iconic artists who inspired a generation, fueled a social revolution, and still influence much of what we listen to today. Through the program, children enjoy dynamic instruction and lively enrichment activities focused on academic and social well-being.

NSSI, a national nonprofit organization, works with organizations, schools, and communities who are eager to provide children with a high-quality summer learning experience that empowers local teachers to focus intently on students’ academic and social success. The program is taught by award-winning teachers who have come together to create an entirely new distance learning experience for America’s children. To learn more, visit schoolsreimagined.org.
