New York Family: National Dance Institute 2018 Event of the Year “At The River’s Edge”

"Directed by Kelly Buwalda, this event will bring together over 200 talented dancers from NYC public schools in an exhilarating performance that celebrates cultures, creatures, and cities that thrive at the river’s edge. With original choreography and live music, the dancers will samba through the Amazon, strut along the Hudson, and set sail on the Mississippi. This performance will remind us of the river’s beauty, power to connect us all to each other, and the need to conserve these precious water sources for future generations."

Pointe Magazine: What to Watch: Jacques d’Amboise on Dancing for Jerome Robbins

"The lasting success of Robbins' dances can be attributed to what d'Amboise sees as the great humanity behind his work; Robbins presented identifiable and relatable characters onstage. To that end, D'Amboise shared that Robbins would often pair him with his wife, fellow NYCB dancer Carolyn George, to get authentic feeling out of them. Some of Robbins tactics, while effective, were less kind. "He would have the dancers come in and say 'You're not allowed to talk to each other or make eye contact today' in his rehearsal," says d'Amboise, "And then one day he says 'And now you can.'"

Pointe Magazine: #TBT Jacques d’Amboise in “Carousel” (1956)

"With casual swagger and his trademark enthusiasm, d'Amboise seems like just a regular guy—until he starts jumping. He finishes off a series of four consecutive double tours (at 3:15) with a triumphant toss of the head, then hangs midair in his double cabrioles, showing off his spectacular beats before he even thinks about landing."
